Product Description:
Neon is a colorless, odorless rare gas with the chemical formula Ne.
The main uses of neon include:
- Neon lighting filling gas. Neon is often used as a filling gas for colored neon lights and for outdoor advertising displays.
- Filling media for the electronics industry. Neon gas is used inside high-voltage neon lamps, counting tubes and other electronic equipment.
- Laser technology. Neon is used in laser technology as a component of optically luminous indicator lights, voltage regulation and as a component of laser gas mixtures.
- Low temperature coolant. Neon is used for cryogenic cooling, especially in the temperature range of 25 to 40 Kelvin. Neon is often used as a safety coolant, replacing hydrogen.
- High energy physics research. Neon is used in high energy physics research, for example filling spark chambers to detect the behavior of particles.
- Breath mixture. Neon can be combined with oxygen to form a breathing mixture and is used in deep-sea operations.
